Just Eat Chocolate!

a turquoise plate of dark chocolate

It’s getting to that dreaded time of the month, your hormones are whirring, your mood swings can’t even keep up with themselves and every little thing in life feels ten times worse than it did 24 hours earlier. You run to your trusty Bridget pants because dare you risk anything remotely sexy with the onset of bloating and cramps. All you want to do is curl up in a ball and feel sorry for yourself, and eat . . CHOCOLATE.

Talk to any of your girlfriends and you will soon know that you are not alone in this sudden need to head to a 24 hour supermarket in the middle of the night and raid the chocolate aisles. It’s called hormones ladies, and you are sure to find a friend in another woman reaching for that all important bar of choc at exactly the same time as you.

In a world where we are becoming increasingly aware of our own bodies, the need for a healthy well balanced diet and being consistently mindful of our lifestyle choices, we will often ignore the chocolate alarm that goes off in the hope that we can maintain that amazing willpower and instead, reach for an avocado.

But did you know? This craving that you feel at the same point of every month, is your hormones trying to regulate it’s balance of magnesium and often a drop of blood sugar levels. So, what is a girl to do?

EAT CHOCOLATE.

It contains an extremely high content of magnesium, which is needed (surprisingly) for detoxification and is a fantastic reliever of cramps, tension and stress. Like we need any more of an excuse! The less magnesium floating around your body, the more likely you are to suffer with bloating and those dreaded migraines. And those mood swings? Well, they help to ease those as well.

The aim of this is to not encourage you into bad habits, but there are ways in which you can understand what your body needs and feed it with a nourishing choccy fix. Without the need to go to a supermarket in your pjs and purchase the rubbish chocolate that contains no goodness!

We want to share with you a recipe that’s quick, easy, and will keep you on your wellness path. The fantastic thing about these ‘amazeballs’ is that they help to regulate hormones for women at all stages of life and curbs those cravings in a healthy, nutritious way. The hormone imbalances that our body goes through occur during conception, pregnancy, postnatal and menopause so we have to feed it with something sweet, full of nutrition and a healthy kick to take the edge off. This recipe not only contains natural chocolate substances, that gives the brain the satisfaction it needs, but also Matcha – the anti-oxidant powerhouse! It is full of health benefits, and helps women to gain control of those hormone imbalances. Matcha enhances our mood, calms the mind, relaxes the body and detoxifies effectively and naturally.
